Mix semisolid of saturated hydrocarbons of mineral origin, derived from the refining of petroleum oils and waxes. Has a creamy texture and is insoluble in water but miscible with oils. It is characterized by its property lubricant, protective and insulating. It is not suitable for cosmetic use, or pharmacist, because it contains impurities which are not eliminated in the process of refining.
